SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

TAXI – Taxis are usually plentiful at the S.F. Airport. The Fare to the
inn will be between $30 and 35 and will take approximately 20 minutes.
For two or more people this is the best way to go.

DOOR TO DOOR SHUTTLE – Shuttle vans are usually plentiful and also
a great way to go. Watch for the signs to the shuttle van areas as you
exit the terminal. The rate PER PERSON is around $13. Time to the inn
varies between 20 and 60 minutes depending on how many stops are
made on your route. Check out www.supershuttle.com

SUBWAY/BART – We now have BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) service to the San Francisco International Airport. Follow the signs to BART and take a train into San Francisco. There are two options to getting to The Parker Guest House using BART;

1) If you do not have much luggage and don’t mind a walk, get off the BART at the 16th and Mission Station. We need to warn you that this is a pretty bad area - although we have never had any guest problems. Walk west on 16th Street 4 blocks (towards the hills) to Church Street. Now you are in a nice area! On Church Street take a left and go 1 ½ blocks to the inn at 520 Church Street. OR

2) For very little walking, take BART into downtown San Francisco and get off at the Civic Center Station. Exit the BART system but stay in the underground station and go into the MUNI system (local in-town subway). You need to have small bills or coins for your one-way fare. Once in the MUNI go down to the boarding area and wait for an OUTBOUND J-CHURCH train. Take that OUTBOUND J-CHURCH train which will after one stop come out of a tunnel and become a streetcar. Ride it approximately 4 more blocks to the stop at 18th Street and Church. Get off the streetcar and walk a short distance uphill to the inn at 520 Church Street. Call Toll Free us at 1(888) 520 – 7275 from any pay phone if you get lost or need additional information. Also, local San Franciscans love to give directions. Don’t hesitate to ask somebody for assistance.

CAR SERVICE – To arrange for private car service pickup we recommend
you contact Jet Car Services at 1(800) 982 – 9116 or 1(415) 609 – 9116.
Cost for this service varies between $40 and $50. (top)

OAKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

TAXI – As this airport is a lot further away, the fare is higher – around
$60. The trip can take between 30 and 90 minutes depending on Bay
Bridge traffic.

DOOR TO DOOR SHUTTLE – Shuttle van service is also expensive and less
predictable, A taxi will be a lot easier and about the same price – especially
if there are two people. For questions contact Super Shuttle at
1 (800) 258 - 3826. www.supershuttle.com

SUBWAY/BART (www.bart.gov) – The most economical way to get to
The Parker Guest House from Oakland Airport is to take BART, but it is a
bit of a schlep. Look for signs for the AIR BART bus connection.
This should be a free connection, but ask. At the BART station get a
San Francisco/Daily City/ or Colma bound train and get off at the
16th & Mission Street Station. Be advised that this is a fairly rough area
but we have never had any guest problems. Find 16th Street and
walk west (towards the hills) for 4 blocks to Church Street. Take a left
on Churchan go one and a half blocks to 520 Church Street.

CAR RENTAL INFORMATION

Before you rent a car, we highly suggest you consider exactly how
many days you will actually use it. San Francisco is a public transportation
city and driving and parking here is a big hassle. We find many of our
guests rent a car for 5 days and use it only one or two. Areas adjacent
to the city such as the coast, Muir woods and The Napa valley are best
seen by private car (although good tours are available) so you may want
a car but it is easy to arrange to rent a car for just one or two days.

The company we work with is a local National Car Rental affiliate and they
can be reached at www.specialtyrentals.com or toll free at 1(800) 400-8412.

They are our first choice as they are:

• Gay owned and operated

• Close by and will deliver cars right to the inn

• Offer a discount for Parker Guest House guests – Ask for it

• Offer Standard cars as well as some very sexy luxury selections
-Go for it

Again, we do suggest that you only have the car on the days you really need it.
We do have limited on site parking available for $20 per night.

Please call us if you have any further questions or concerns.(top)
